I’m 100% a proud self-taught baker. I’ve always loved cooking and baking but didn’t start baking professionally until December 2015, one year after graduating from my alma mater, Howard University.
I gave birth to Syd’s Sweets during a time where I’d been looking for full-time work and quickly, it became my silver lining. Immediately after launching it, I received incredible support from close family and friends. Since then, Syd’s Sweets has skyrocketed - proving that practice does make perfect. From studying peers in the pastry industry to honoring my mothers recipes, I curate my own spin into each treat I bake, ensuring that my customers satisfy their sweet spot.
